France captured my heart many years ago when I first visited
during a creative retreat with friends.
I have ancestry through my maternal line that traces back to France...
maybe this is why, I don't know.
But France holds a very dear place in my heart
and a visit always feels like going home.
We visited the region of Normandy...this being our second time.
We loved it so much the first time, we knew we'd be back.
After arriving at the airport in CDG,
we picked up our rental car and headed out.
Since we had to travel a few hours to our destination
and couldn't check in until a certain time anyway
we decided to stop in Giverny...always a good idea!
My daughter and I strolled around
Monet's House and Garden for a few hours
while Mike rested in the car...(he had been there twice before).
After Julia and I were done soaking in all the beauty,
the three of us walked around the charming village of Giverny
and had a bite to eat before continuing on our journey.
We arrived at Château de Boucéel
and were greeted by The Count of Roquefeuil-Cahuzac,
the passionate owner of Château de Boucéel.
Before settling in for the night we took an evening stroll
around the expansive and beautiful property...
visiting with some donkeys, a sweet and playful puppy
and one friendly cat named "Titi".
