On our last day in Iceland we toured the Golden Circle,
which consists of Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir and Thingvellir.
We stopped at Geysir first. It was a pretty cold day
so unfortunately we didn't stay long
but it was very interesting!
Across the street there is a great gift shop
and a restaurant called Geysir Glima
that you should check out!
VERY hip...great design.
The next place we visited was Gullfoss Waterfall.
Again...very cold and windy so not alot of photos
but it was gorgeous!
Before heading to Thingvellir for the remainder of the day
we headed to Laugarvatn Fontana for their
Rye Bread Experience which I had read about online.
We booked ahead of time since this is becoming
quite popular...and well, we love rye bread
so this was definitely happening : )
It was amazing to witness the bread being baked
in the geothermal black sand and then the
best part was getting to eat the
steaming hot bread with butter of course!
Because it really never gets dark in the summertime
we were able to explore literally until all hours of the night.
We were getting tired but we pushed on and finally
made it to our last stop which was
This place was virtually empty...
we basically had it all to ourselves!
Very beautiful park; we could have spent the entire day here!
Iceland was such a magical experience.
We were truly in awe at every turn.
If you ever get the chance to visit you will not be disappointed!
