been doing some spring cleaning, shopping and fluffing around my nest...thought i'd share some pics with you!
this lovely lady was purchased years ago from a local thrift sale for i think $5...made of plaster.
i have been on the lookout for these shell boxes. so far i have three of them. oh no...another collection.
abalone shells and beach glass found on recent california trip.
on our way home from cape cod last month we stopped at this large antique mall in massachusetts. daughter was roaming around with husband looking at things and came up to me..."mom, i found a bird cage in the back that you are going to go nuts over"...sure enough. my daughter knows me : )
also at this antique mall i finally found an item on my "most wanted list"...a pie display case. michael looked at me strangely when i asked him to carry it to the front of the store. he said "what are you going to put in there"..and i said in my most annoyed voice..."i am going to bake pies...what do you think i am going to do with it? gosh."
this past weekend i went on my first yard sale treasure hunting day of the season. found this wonderful old cupboard/armoire...here is the before picture. i am working on it now and will post pics when i'm done.
kind of creepy but i love these german dolls.
darling husband helped me recently hang this old door on the wall. he just goes along with me now. he has learned not to ask questions. he remembers asking me about the pie display case.
visited the local nursery the other day and bought an herb garden! this poor old crock was sitting in my garage for the last few years just waiting patiently to be taken inside and loved. oh dear crock. your day has finally come.
a few lovely plates and forks...$10. and the forks say "Belle"...ahhh. so lovely.
keep me out of "HomeGoods" someone please. "oh, i'm just going to see if they have the pink lemonade from france" OR "i just have to get a few candles" OR "i just want to see if they have anything new in today"...people. these are just excuses and should never be taken literally. my kids know. this lovely settee made it's way into my car on the last visit. i tried to fight it. i tried to run. i hid around the corner of the aisles. it just kept finding me. no matter where i went.
